English Translation

My name is Kenji Tanaka. I live in Tokyo. I am a university student, so I go to school every day. My school is a bit far from home, so I take the bus.

There are four people in my family: my father, my mother, my younger sister, and me. My mother is a great cook and makes our meals every day. I love her cooking. Breakfast is bread and eggs. I eat lunch at the school cafeteria and dinner at home.

My favourite food is sushi โ€” tuna and salmon especially. It is delicious and good for you. I want to eat it every week.

Yesterday I went to a sushi restaurant with my family. It is a well-known place near our house. There were many people waiting out front.

We arrived around seven o'clock. Inside it was lively and packed with customers. We sat down, and a server brought us water and green tea.

The menu had all kinds of sushi. I had tuna and salmon โ€” the tuna was especially good. My sister likes shrimp sushi; it was sweet and delicious. My father had octopus, and my mother had egg sushi and cucumber rolls.

We also drank plenty of green tea. Everything was delicious and I was completely full. The bill came to 8,000 yen, and my father paid.

Back home, I chatted with my sister. "Today's sushi was so good, wasn't it?" she said. "I want to go again," I replied. It was a wonderful day.
