先日せんじつの日曜日にちようび、私わたしは地域ちいきの公園こうえんでボランティア活動かつどうに参加さんかしました。朝あさ９時じに集合しゅうごうして、まず今日きょうの活動かつどうの説明せつめいを聞ききました。主おもな内容ないようは、公園内こうえんないのごみ拾ひろいと花壇かだんの手入ていれです。

たくさんの人ひとが集あつまっていて、老若男女ろうにゃくなんにょ、さまざまな年代ねんだいの人ひとがいました。私わたしはごみ拾ひろいのチームに入はいり、仲間なかまと一緒いっしょに公園こうえんの隅々すみずみまで歩あるきました。予想よそうしていたよりもごみが少すくなくて、地域ちいきの人ひとたちが普段ふだんから公園こうえんをきれいに使つかっていることが分わかりました。でも、タバコの吸すい殻がらやペットボトルなど、小ちいさなごみはまだたくさんありました。一時間半いちじかんはんほど作業さぎょうをして、たくさんのごみを集あつめることができました。

ごみ拾ひろいが終おわった後あとは、参加者さんかしゃみんなで準備じゅんびされたおにぎりやサンドイッチを食たべました。皆みなで「お疲つかれ様さまでした」と言いいながら、楽たのしく話はなしました。 最初さいしょは疲つかれるだろうと思おもっていましたが、実際じっさいには人ひとと協力きょうりょくして何なにかをすることの喜よろこびや、地域ちいきに貢献こうけんできたという達成感たっせいかんがとても大おおきかったのです。 次つぎのボランティア活動かつどうにも、ぜひ参加さんかしたいと思おもっています。

English Translation

The other Sunday, I participated in a volunteer activity at a local park. We gathered at 9 AM and first listened to an explanation of today's activities. The main tasks were picking up trash in the park and maintaining the flower beds.

Many people had gathered, including men and women of all ages, from various generations. I joined the trash-picking team and walked to every corner of the park with my teammates. There was less trash than I expected, which showed that local people usually keep the park clean. However, there were still many small pieces of trash, like cigarette butts and plastic bottles. We worked for about an hour and a half and were able to collect a lot of trash.

After the trash picking finished, all the participants ate the prepared onigiri and sandwiches together. We all chatted happily, saying, "Good job, everyone!" At first, I thought I would be tired, but in reality, the joy of working together with others and the sense of accomplishment from contributing to the community were truly immense. I definitely want to participate in the next volunteer activity as well.
